Software Engineer, Internal Tools at Metriport. You’ll build and own internal tooling that removes friction, improves efficiency, and strengthens security for teams working with sensitive healthcare data.

- Improve Developer Experience (DX) and onboarding:
- automate local environment setup for new engineers
- improve CI/CD speed
- reduce time-to-productive from hours to minutes
- Evaluate and adopt new tools:
- research integration platforms (e.g., Zapier, n8n, Make)
- assess AI productivity tools with the Security team
- roll out solutions that meet compliance requirements
- Automate reporting by pulling recurring reports from AWS Athena, REST APIs, and other data sources.
- Team alignment: participate in a daily 30-minute remote standup at 7:30 AM PST (Mon–Fri).
Requirements
- 3+ years in software engineering, automation, or internal tools roles (ideally at a startup with broad responsibilities).
- TypeScript proficiency (clean, maintainable code across the stack).
- React proficiency (build and extend UI components for internal workflows).
Nice-to-Haves / Additional Signals (implied)
- Strong interest in automating repetitive work and building secure systems.
- Ability to partner with Engineering, Ops, and business stakeholders to translate needs into solutions.
- Familiarity with enterprise-appropriate AI tooling judgment and security-minded integration (least privilege, PHI protection).
