Role Overview

GC AI is hiring a Backend Integration Engineer to architect the data infrastructure powering how legal teams use AI. You’ll design integration and document-processing systems that transform raw files into structured, AI-ready data while keeping integrations reliable and secure at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build the file processing backbone, including upload systems and two-way sync engines.
• Design and implement document parsing pipelines that convert raw files into AI-ready data.
• Make technical decisions balancing performance, security, and code quality.
• Build and maintain production backend integrations with enterprise systems.
• Improve integration reliability by using resilient job orchestration, retries/backoffs, and health visibility.
• Deliver secure connectors to systems across docs, email, chat, and ticketing.
• Launch enterprise admin features such as SSO/SCIM, audit logs, and DLP hooks.

Requirements

• 3+ years building production backend systems.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
• React experience.
• Proven experience building API integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot, SharePoint, Google Drive).
• Solid understanding of Postgres and database design.

Nice to Have

• Experience with modern ORMs like Drizzle or Prisma.
• Familiarity with iPaaS platforms (Paragon, Integration.dev, Airbyte).
• GCP knowledge.
• Elasticsearch experience.
