Software Engineer, Infrastructure - Remote (USA)

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team at Orb, you’ll help maintain high reliability for systems customers depend on. You’ll work on the infrastructure powering the product end-to-end, including event ingestion, API services, alerting, invoicing, and more.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure resiliency efforts (recovery mechanisms, tenant isolation, load spike handling, etc.)
• Improve observability and operability of systems
• Build performance-critical infrastructure for user-facing functionality (e.g., real-time event processing)
• Plan and execute scaling initiatives for large customer growth
• Partner with other engineering teams to deliver reliable product features
• Mentor fellow engineers and share expertise (observability, rollout strategies, risk mitigation)

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years working in the infrastructure domain
• Strong ability to reason about edge cases, failure modes, and bottlenecks
• Proven debugging skills for tricky errors and performance issues
• Enjoys building scalable infrastructure for a high-growth product

Nice to Have / Preferred

• Demonstrated mentoring experience and best-practice leadership
