Software Engineer II (Java, API)

Role Overview

Software Engineer II for the Automatic Tank Gauge team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software that powers automatic tank gauging and related platforms. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and help deliver scalable, reliable software solutions that improve fueling infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement software solutions for automatic tank gauging systems
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and quality assurance teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Participate in Agile processes (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on design, coding, and technology adoption
• Improve development processes, tools, and product performance/maintainability
• Ensure software quality via automated testing, code reviews, and documentation
• Support deployment and maintenance of cloud-based software

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (CS/Software Engineering/Computer Engineering) or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of software development in object-oriented languages, preferably C++ or Java
• Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON
• Experience with continuous integration and automated testing
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
