Software Engineer II - Front End

Role Overview

Software Engineer II - Front End is an individual-contributor role within a remote team. With support and guidance from leadership, you will help meet scope, schedule, and delivery requirements while collaborating with engineering, QA, and UX stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain user-facing web applications using Angular, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement UI designs based on Figma specifications using federal Design System components.
• Write and maintain end-to-end UI tests using Selenium and Cypress to support automated test coverage goals.
• Ensure frontend implementations meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards in collaboration with the UX/Accessibility team.
• Debug, optimize, and monitor work across test and production environments, contributing to CI/CD pipelines as appropriate.
• Participate in mandatory peer code reviews (four-eyes principle) for all commits.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, QA, and UX designers to deliver features from story refinement through production deployment.
• Participate in SAFe ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives).
• Contribute to Design System component development to maintain consistency across program modules.
• Support on-call rotations as needed and build cross-functional knowledge through paired programming.

Requirements (Basic Qualifications)

• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must meet federal suitability requirements and pass a background investigation.
• Proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.
• Experience implementing UI designs from Figma (or equivalent design tooling).
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA.
