About the role
Role Overview
Software Engineer II responsible for owning medium-sized features end-to-end, contributing to design decisions, and mentoring early-career engineers. You’ll work in an agile team building production-ready, reliable, scalable, cloud-native systems.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain production-quality software applications aligned to user stories and acceptance criteria
- Own features from design through production release, including independently breaking down work
- Write and maintain tests: unit, integration, and end-to-end; improve CI/CD pipelines
- Build cloud-native services on AWS, following security and observability best practices
- Implement mobile and/or cross-platform features using Dart and Flutter
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in on-call rotations (if applicable)
- Provide technical guidance to Software Engineer I, conduct code reviews, and share best practices
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps in an agile environment
- Stay current with emerging technologies and help evolve architecture and engineering practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree + 2 years in related field; or master’s + up to 2 years; or 10 years related experience without a degree
- 2+ years professional software engineering experience in production environments
- Strong hands-on AWS experience (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch, IAM, S3; serverless frameworks or similar)
- Proficiency in at least one backend/full-stack language: TypeScript/JavaScript or Python (or similar)
- Experience building RESTful APIs, services, or distributed systems
- Solid software engineering fundamentals: OOP design, test automation, CI/CD, debugging, performance considerations
- Experience working in agile teams and contributing to design discussions
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Scalable cloud-native or serverless architecture experience
- Familiarity with Docker/ECS/EKS and Terraform/CDK (infrastructure-as-code)
- Production experience with Dart and Flutter
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases
- Mobile deployment pipelines (e.g., Firebase App Distribution, TestFlight)
- Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer)
- Mentoring junior engineers or leading small initiatives

- Atlanta based candidates only
- In-office 2 days/week required
