Software Engineer I (SE1 - Remote)

Role Overview

Epsilon C5I is hiring a Software Engineer I (SE1) / Full Stack Developer I or DevSecOps Engineer I on a remote basis (hybrid and remote options mentioned). The role focuses on building secure, scalable, high-performance applications and integrating security across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance existing systems and implement new features
• Design, develop, and implement web applications supporting a national toolset with a large user base
• Produce well-written, designed, testable, efficient code meeting technical requirements
• Deploy secure systems and networks (including on classified/secured networks)
• Apply Scrum framework principles and participate across the development lifecycle
• Conduct post-processing and data reduction
• Assist senior engineers with routine assignments
• Troubleshoot defects with users and deploy timely fixes
• Write analysis reports, develop briefings, and produce technical documentation
• Deliver projects on time with attention to quality

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
• 0–4 years of relevant software development experience
• Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with business users and management
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Effective written, oral, and presentation skills

Desired Qualifications

• CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Container security (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Threat modeling and secure coding practices
• Scripting (Python, Bash)
• Frontend: React, Angular, Vue (etc.)
• Backend: Node.js, Django, Spring Boot (etc.)
• Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB)
• API development: RESTful APIs and GraphQL
• Git and Docker (optionally)
• Desire/ability to work with classified TS/SCI clearance (explicitly stated as desired)
