Role Overview

Software Engineer (I – II – III), Back-end at Gotrah Ventures. You will design and develop scalable software platforms, owning work across the full software development lifecycle from analysis to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop back-end software services and components
• Build reusable code and libraries
• Execute and contribute to the full software development lifecycle
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability
• Design and implement data storage solutions
• Implement security and data protection
• Create software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
• Document and maintain software functionality
• Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
• Develop tools and applications with clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks using scripting and appropriate tooling
• Contribute to product infrastructure

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience
• Experience with Data Modeling and Database Design
• Experience with at least one back-end programming language: Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, Go, Scala, C++
• Scripting language proficiency: Python, Shell, JavaScript, Ruby
• Working knowledge of at least one non-relational data store: MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, etc.
• Working knowledge of at least one messaging system: Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.
• Proficient with code versioning tools, specifically Git
• Familiar with container-based development/deployment
• Strong OOP and Design Patterns
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals
• Experience in an Agile Scrum team
• Self-driven and fast learner

Nice to Have (PLUS)

• Experience with more than one programming language
• Experience with GraphQL
• Experience in microservice architecture
• Experience with cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
• User authentication and authorization between systems/servers/environments
• Good understanding of containerized applications and tools: Docker, Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD automation tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines
• Experience with multi-tier distributed systems, web services/APIs, and both relational + NoSQL databases
• Experience across multiple parts of the stack (e.g., Frontend, Android/iOS, Backend, DevOps)
