About the role

Role Overview

You will join a collaborative team to design, develop, test, and maintain mission-critical, customer-facing enterprise applications. The work is full-stack, spanning front-end user interfaces and back-end business logic running on Tomcat application servers.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain enterprise Java (JEE) applications supporting customer-facing systems
Implement new features and enhancements for upcoming releases
Troubleshoot, resolve, and support production issues; participate in an on-call rotation
Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts, QA teams, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver successfully
Maintain ESRI/ArcGIS databases and supporting scripts
Design scalable solutions and participate in architecture discussions
Evaluate new technologies, tools, and third-party products
Create proof-of-concept solutions for complex initiatives
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (and support waterfall/project-based efforts as needed)
Maintain production and lower environment map data databases
Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and best practices

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years enterprise Java (JEE) development experience
Strong experience with Tomcat application servers
Hands-on GIS experience with ESRI/ArcGIS including:
- ArcGIS Pro
- ArcGIS Server publishing and managing GIS services
Experience with spatial databases and Microsoft SQL Server
Proficiency in:
- Java, Python, JavaScript
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or LLM-based coding assistants
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with modern application frameworks: Spring Boot, Angular, React, Vue.js
Experience delivering in both Agile and traditional project methodologies

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available
Remote requirements indicate reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, quiet workspace
