About the role

Role Overview

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (backend-focused) for a fully-remote fintech and travel startup. You will design, build, and scale core financial and loyalty platforms, working closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver end-to-end features.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for high-volume financial transactions and rewards workflows
Own full feature delivery across core systems, including:
- Payments
- Rewards
- Account services
- Partner integrations
Contribute to system architecture and technical design as the platform evolves and scales
Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver end-to-end features when full-stack work is needed
Improve backend reliability, performance, and observability via testing, monitoring, and code quality

Requirements

6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend focus
Production experience building backend systems in Python (ideally Django)
Experience designing APIs, data models, and services using PostgreSQL and AWS

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React
Comfort working in distributed systems and high-availability production environments
Strong ownership mindset from concept through production

Compensation

$250k base + equity
