About the role

Role Overview

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (backend-focused) at a fully-remote fintech and travel startup.

You’ll design, build, and scale backend services and APIs for high-volume financial transactions and loyalty/rewards workflows, collaborating closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver end-to-end features.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
Own full feature delivery across:
- Payments
- Rewards
- Account services
- Partner integrations
Contribute to system architecture and technical design as the platform evolves and scales
Collaborate with frontend/mobile engineers on end-to-end features when full-stack work is required
Improve backend reliability, performance, and observability via:
- Testing
- Monitoring
- Code quality practices

Requirements

6+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend focus
Production experience building backend systems in Python (ideally Django)
Experience designing APIs, data models, and services using PostgreSQL and AWS

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g., TypeScript, React)
Comfort with distributed systems and high-availability production environments
Strong ownership mindset (taking projects from concept through production)

Compensation

$250k base salary plus equity
