About the role

Role overview

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (backend-focused) for a fully-remote fintech/travel startup. You’ll design, build, and scale backend services and APIs that power payments, rewards, and account services, partnering closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver end-to-end features.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for high-volume financial transactions and rewards workflows
Own full feature delivery across payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations
Contribute to system architecture and technical design as the platform evolves
Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers on end-to-end feature development when needed
Improve reliability, performance, and observability via testing, monitoring, and code quality practices

Requirements

6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus
Production experience building backend systems in Python (ideally Django)
Experience designing APIs, data models, and services using PostgreSQL and AWS

Nice to have

Frontend experience with TypeScript and React
Comfort working in distributed systems and high-availability production environments
Strong ownership mindset (take projects from concept through production)

Compensation

$250k base + equity
