About the role

Role Overview

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (backend-focused) for a fully-remote fintech and travel startup. You’ll design, build, and scale core financial and loyalty platforms, partnering closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver end-to-end features.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for high-volume financial transactions and rewards workflows
Own full feature delivery across core systems, including:
- Payments
- Rewards
- Account services
- Partner integrations
Contribute to system architecture and technical design as the platform evolves
Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers on end-to-end feature delivery when needed
Improve reliability, performance, and observability via testing, monitoring, and code quality practices

Requirements

6+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend focus
Production experience building backend systems in Python (ideally Django)
Experience designing APIs, data models, and services using PostgreSQL and AWS

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of TypeScript and React
Comfort with distributed systems and high-availability production environments
Strong ownership mindset (take backend projects from concept through production)
