Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (backend-focused) for a fully-remote fintech and travel startup. You’ll design, build, and scale core financial and loyalty platforms, collaborating closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver end-to-end features across payments, rewards, and account services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for high-volume financial transactions and rewards workflows
• Own full feature delivery across core systems: payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design as the platform evolves and scales
• Partner with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver end-to-end features when full-stack work is needed
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability using testing, monitoring, and code quality practices

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus
• Production experience building backend systems in Python (ideally Django)
• Experience designing APIs, data models, and services using PostgreSQL and AWS

Nice to Have

• Frontend experience with TypeScript and React
• Comfort working in distributed systems and high-availability production environments
• Strong ownership mindset (take projects from concept through production)

Compensation

• $250k base + equity (competitive; equity details not specified)
