Software Engineer, Full-Stack

Role overview

Encord is hiring a Software Engineer (Full-Stack) to help push its AI data platform to the next level of performance and reliability. You’ll work in a small, highly collaborative team with significant autonomy, owning projects end-to-end and building foundational systems across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend foundational systems across the full stack (backend services and frontend interfaces)
• Take end-to-end ownership: product/architecture decisions through deployment, monitoring, and measuring user impact
• Operate autonomously while collaborating with a lean, high-trust team
• Solve complex problems at massive scale using simple, well-crafted solutions
• Proactively improve the codebase and product through initiative and continuous iteration

Requirements

• Strong full-stack engineering experience with production-grade work on both backend and frontend
• Deep fluency in at least one high-level language (Encord uses Python and TypeScript, but values depth)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP) and containerised deployment (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Experience building at scale in a fast-paced startup/high-growth environment
• Comfortable contributing across the stack and making decisions without a fully defined problem
• Collaborative mindset: contribute your best work and help teammates level up

Nice to have

• Exposure to machine learning workflows / ML infrastructure
