About the role

Role overview

Software Engineer - Frontend (Contract) with Labelbox. Fully remote and asynchronous, with a minimum of 15 hrs/week. You’ll review and build frontend code that shapes the data powering frontier AI.

What you’ll do

Review and evaluate AI-generated frontend code for correctness, efficiency, accessibility, and clarity
Write high-quality frontend solutions for UI/web development problems across varying difficulty levels
Produce clear, user-friendly explanations of design decisions, code logic, and problem-solving strategies
Identify and flag edge cases or ambiguities in problem statements or AI responses

Requirements

Fluent English and strong written communication skills
Ability to clearly explain frontend coding concepts
Strong JavaScript expertise, including:
- async/await, closures, DOM manipulation, ES6+, and browser APIs
3–5 years of experience with modern frontend frameworks/tools/domains (e.g., React, Vue, Angular)
Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing) in Computer Science or related field

Nice to have

Master’s/PhD preferred (not required)
Experience with data labeling, RLHF, or other AI training projects

Interview process

English screening with Zara (AI interviewer)
Domain-specific interview assessing frontend expertise, including:
- frontend frameworks
- state management
- performance optimization

Work style

Flexible workload: work from anywhere on your own schedule (asynchronous)
Rolling start date as projects launch
