Contract Frontend Software Engineer supporting AI training/evaluation work at Labelbox.

Quick facts

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate AI-generated frontend code for:
    • correctness
    • efficiency
    • accessibility
    • clarity
  • Write frontend solutions for UI and web development tasks across varying difficulty levels.
  • Explain design decisions, code logic, and problem-solving strategies clearly for users/assessors.
  • Identify and flag edge cases and ambiguities in problem statements or AI responses.

Requirements

  • Fluent English with strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly explain frontend coding concepts.
  • JavaScript expertise, including:
    • async/await
    • closures
    • DOM manipulation
    • ES6+ syntax
    • browser APIs
  • 3–5 years of experience with modern frontend frameworks, tools, or web development domains (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or pursuing).

Nice to Have

  • Master’s or PhD (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with data labeling, RLHF, or other AI training projects.

Interview Process

  • English screening with Zara (AI interviewer) to review background.
  • Domain-specific interview assessing frontend expertise, including:
    • frontend frameworks
    • state management
    • performance optimization.
