About the role
Role Overview
Software Engineer - Frontend (Contract)
- Engagement: Hourly, at-will contractor
- Schedule: Fully remote & asynchronous (min. 15 hrs/week)
- Start date: Rolling (staffed as projects launch)
- Pay (US): $25–$100/hour
What You’ll Do
- Review and evaluate AI-generated frontend code for:
- correctness, efficiency, accessibility, and clarity
- Write frontend solutions for UI and web development problems across varying difficulty levels
- Explain design and code decisions clearly (frontend logic and problem-solving strategies)
- Identify and flag edge cases or ambiguities in problem statements or AI responses
Requirements
- Fluent English and strong written communication skills
- Ability to clearly explain frontend coding concepts
- JavaScript expertise, including:
- async/await, closures
- DOM manipulation, ES6+ syntax
- browser APIs
- 3–5 years of experience with modern frontend frameworks/tools/domains (e.g., React, Vue, Angular, web development)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or pursuing); Master’s/PhD preferred but not required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data labeling, RLHF, or other AI training projects
Interview Process
- Screening with Zara (AI interviewer) in English
- Domain-specific interview/assessment covering:
- frontend frameworks
- state management
- performance optimization
