Software Engineer – Freelance

Role Overview

Join Twine’s founding team as a Freelance Full Stack Software Engineer (fully remote). You’ll shape the technical direction and culture of a growing IT consulting agency by architecting, building, and deploying scalable solutions across backend and frontend.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of web applications, including architecture, implementation, and deployment
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Design and build scalable backend and frontend systems using modern tech stacks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET)
• Ensure code quality via best practices, code reviews, and automated testing
• Maintain and improve existing systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and refactoring
• Help define engineering standards and promote a culture of ownership and innovation
• Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend adoption when appropriate

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in full stack development
• Proficiency in at least two major tech stacks from: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET (and willingness to adapt)
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design
• Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and team members
• Proven ability to own projects and deliver high-quality results
• Availability for ongoing, remote work
