About the role

Role Overview

Finalis is looking for a Senior (Sr.) Software Engineer to build and scale its AI-native platform across three pillars: compliance, data, and payments. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and leadership to design and implement high-impact solutions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for compliance, data, and payment products
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Sales, and Compliance to turn business needs into technical solutions
Own projects end-to-end: technical design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring
Ensure code quality, reliability, and security via best practices in testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
Mentor and guide junior engineers and help foster technical excellence
Participate in architectural discussions and help shape the platform’s long-term technical vision
Stay current with industry trends in fintech, compliance, and distributed systems

Requirements

5+ years professional software engineering experience (startup environment preferred)
Strong skills in TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and React
Solid knowledge of backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design
Experience with relational databases and data modeling
Proven ability to ship production-grade systems in fintech/SaaS or other regulated environments
Ability to solve problems and translate ambiguous requirements into concrete solutions
Strong communication and comfort collaborating with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in fintech, investment banking, or compliance-driven software systems
Familiarity with financial infrastructure (payments, reconciliation, accounting, transaction processing)
Knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience with security best practices (authN/authZ, data privacy regulations)
Track record mentoring engineers and influencing architecture at scale
