About the role

Role Overview

You will be a Software Engineer (2–5 years experience) supporting enterprise reporting and data-driven applications. The role contributes to development, testing, modernization, and production support under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

Test, maintain, troubleshoot, and support reporting services built with Core Java
Develop and maintain enterprise reporting applications, data-processing components, and reporting utilities
Analyze existing reports, source systems, SQL queries, stored procedures, business rules, data transformations, schedules, and dependencies
Migrate legacy reports to approved modern reporting/analytics technologies
Develop and optimize SQL for extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting
Work with data warehouses and cloud data analytics platforms
Use modern AI tools to improve development efficiency and code quality
Perform source-to-target data analysis and document business rules, data mappings, and report dependencies
Validate modernized reports against legacy outputs for data accuracy and functional consistency
Build unit tests and participate in integration/regression testing, data reconciliation, and UAT
Troubleshoot defects, reporting discrepancies, failed jobs, performance issues, and production incidents
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and technical troubleshooting
Follow coding standards, reporting guidelines, security requirements, and software development best practices
Create and maintain technical documentation (designs, mappings, test results, deployment instructions, support procedures)
Communicate risks/blockers/dependencies to senior engineers; continuously improve skills in modern reporting and data engineering

Requirements

2–5 years professional experience in enterprise reporting, software development, and/or data-driven applications
Core Java expertise (OOP, collections, exception handling, generics)
Experience with multithreading/concurrency, file/stream processing, JDBC, and Java 8+ features
Unit testing and debugging experience
Experience extracting/analyzing data via SQL, including stored procedures and query optimization

Nice-to-Haves

Experience migrating legacy reporting to modern reporting/analytics platforms
Familiarity with data warehouses and cloud analytics platforms
Experience with AI-assisted development tools
Participation in integration testing/regression testing/data reconciliation/UAT
