Software Engineer (DevOps Platform)

Role Overview

Join Wealthfront’s DevOps Platform team as a Software Engineer. You will combine Linux systems administration with software engineering to build, maintain, and automate infrastructure and core services across data centers and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate core infrastructure and mission-critical services
• Automate application deployment and configure infrastructure
• Triage and resolve operational issues in Linux environments as part of an on-call rotation
• Participate in post-mortems and infrastructure decision-making
• Design, implement, and deploy internal tools/services to improve engineering productivity
• Manage server hardware and contribute to reliability improvements

Requirements

• Experience running and troubleshooting modern Linux systems/services in production
• BS or MS in Computer Science or an engineering field
• Proficiency with at least one automation technology: Terraform, Chef, or Puppet
• 2+ years building reliable production-grade software in Java, Go, or similar languages
• Experience designing and deploying mission-critical complex distributed systems
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills; willingness to learn and educate peers
