Software Engineer

Role Overview

Curri is hiring a Software Engineer (Product Engineer) to join the Technology team with real ownership over the problems they take on. You’ll work in weekly shipping loops, ship across the full stack, and use AI tooling daily as a force multiplier—while applying strong judgment and critical review before changes reach production.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering problems end-to-end within your scope: understand requirements, scope solutions with your team, ship to production, and measure impact.
• Ship in weekly loops with clear outcomes each cycle ("what shipped this week" and what it told you).
• Build across the full stack as needed:
  • Backend services in TypeScript/Node.js
  • Data layer using Postgres
  • Messaging and infrastructure using NATS and Redis
  • UI work with React and React Native
• Use AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Claude) as part of your daily workflow, including code review.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, test coverage, and maintainability.
• Gather context directly from stakeholders closest to the problem and keep stakeholders informed throughout the cycle.

Requirements

• 2+ years building production software with a product engineer mindset (comfortable with solving ambiguous problems rather than only executing perfectly-specified tickets).
• Demonstrated experience shipping real features used by real users.
• Practical full-stack ability, including backend (TypeScript/Node.js) and UI work (React).
• Active daily use of AI tooling with the ability to critically review AI output before production.
• Strong communication and scope-questioning habits.
• Systems awareness: code that works under load and consideration beyond the happy path.

Bonus Points

• Shipped production code using Claude Code (or similar) and can articulate where it helped or misled.
• Experience in a startup/small-team environment turning vague requirements into shipped outcomes.
• Exposure to distributed systems concepts (message queues, caching, event-driven architecture).
• Examples of improving systems (refactors, performance wins, test suites that catch real bugs).
