Founding (Co-Founder) Software Engineer at LomaAI, helping build the technical core of an early-stage geospatial/AI platform. Responsibilities
- Build and scale front-end components for geospatial dashboards and alert systems
- Develop and maintain backend APIs to process satellite and climate data
- Integrate weather, trade, and remote sensing data into clean, usable interfaces
- Collaborate on data pipelines, internal tools, and prototype visualizations
- Help define product priorities, user flows, and platform infrastructure
- Participate in agile development and async team collaboration
Requirements
- 1–3 years of full-stack software development experience (internships/freelance acceptable)
- Proficiency with TypeScript and React or Next.js
- Backend experience with Python and REST frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask
- Basic familiarity with cloud deployment on AWS, GCP, or similar
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and ship quickly in collaboration
- Self-driven mindset and strong interest in climate, agriculture, or intelligence tools
Nice to have
- Experience with geospatial tools (e.g., Mapbox, Leaflet, PostGIS)
- Familiarity with satellite data, remote sensing, or GIS systems
- Interest in humanitarian tech, climate adaptation, or food systems
- Contributions to open source or early-stage startups
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field
- SQL and relational database skills
