Software Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure Engineer)

Role Overview

Join Abnormal’s Platform & Infrastructure team as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. You’ll own the end-to-end lifecycle of a cell-based deployment architecture, including bootstrapping new cells, deploying the application/infrastructure stack, and ensuring cell health and compliance.

Key Missions

• Configure and implement cloud infrastructure: deploy applications and manage cloud resources.
• Partner with product and application teams to design and implement scalable, cloud-native architectures.
• Improve and automate the cell deployment lifecycle, reducing manual steps and time-to-production.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cell health and compliance.
• Reduce technical debt through automation.
• Operate production-grade systems, including on-call and incident response.
• Build systems that work across both infrastructure and application engineering.

Requirements

• Terraform + HCL: 1+ year
• Python: 2+ years, including application-layer code
• AWS: 1+ year (VPC, IAM, S3, Route 53, CloudFront, EKS, ECS, CloudWatch)
• Kubernetes + Helm: 1+ year
• Experience with on-call rotations and incident response
• Comfortable bridging infra and application engineering without hard boundaries
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Cloud infrastructure engineering for production microservices: 4+ years (focus on performance, reliability, security, cost)

Nice-to-haves

• Bash, Go (Golang), Terragrunt
• Data infrastructure exposure (Spark, Databricks)
• Cell-based, multi-tenant, or multi-region architecture experience
• Generative AI developer tools in workflows (e.g., Claude Code) and AI-first engineering practices
• Experience building large-scale IaC abstractions / internal developer platforms
• AWS certifications
