About the role
Role Overview
Software Engineer responsible for building and supporting enterprise integration solutions that connect Epic with internal and external systems. The role blends hands-on development, architecture contributions, and operational ownership to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable healthcare technology.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, deploy, and support Epic integrations and related applications
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Partner with Epic Analysts, Product Owners, QA, and Operations to deliver business and clinical solutions
- Own production operations via production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain applications and integration solutions supporting Epic and LIMS platforms
- Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines
- Support production deployments and release activities
- Serve as a Tier-2 support resource: troubleshoot complex issues, analyze logs/data flows, resolve incidents, document findings
- Collaborate on sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimations, and release planning
- Maintain technical documentation (architecture diagrams, deployment guides, SOPs, workflows, knowledge articles)
- Ensure Jira tickets are updated with accurate statuses, implementation notes, root cause analyses, and deployment evidence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent education and experience)
- 2+ years of software development experience (text truncates after this point, but indicates a minimum)
Nice to Have / Additional Signals
- Experience supporting healthcare integrations and production incident management (Tier-2)
- Familiarity with integration platforms and maintaining compliance, performance, and operational stability
