About the role

Role Overview

You will be a Software Engineer on a full-time remote team, designing, building, and maintaining the BankruptcyData system end to end.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain core parts of the BankruptcyData platform
  • Implement new features and optimize existing code
  • Integrate data sources into the system
  • Collaborate with product, research, and data teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Write clean, testable code and improve engineering practices
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous development improvements

Requirements

  • Strong Computer Science foundation: data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
  • Extensive experience building and maintaining APIs and server-side services
  • Experience with Node and/or PHP (essential)
  • SQL database familiarity, particularly MySQL and Manticore
  • Comfort working in distributed, remote teams
  • Proficiency with version control and CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) plus issue tracking
  • Effective communication and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science/Engineering or related field

Nice-to-Haves

  • Angular 22 front-end development experience
