About the role
Role Overview
Ascensus is hiring multiple Software Engineers for its AI Technology team across Associate, Mid, and Senior levels, plus an SDET track. The team focuses on enterprise AI—troubleshooting AI behavior, improving intelligent systems at scale, and enhancing platform performance across LLMs, agent workflows, and backend integrations.
Responsibilities
Technical Support & Triage
- Investigate and resolve issues reported by users of Agent Assist
- Reproduce failures and trace issues across:
- LLM responses and prompts
- Agent workflows and orchestration
- Tool/MCP calls and backend integrations (e.g., Salesforce and internal enterprise apps)
- Analyze logs, traces, and telemetry (e.g., Langfuse, New Relic logs)
- Document findings and partner with engineering to drive root-cause fixes
System Debugging & Improvement
- Determine whether issues come from prompting, retrieval (RAG), tool selection, or backend systems
- Propose improvements to agents, skills, prompts, and workflows
- Use AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor) to speed debugging and solutioning
- Improve system reliability and response quality
User Enablement & Evangelism
- Train internal users on how to use Agent Assist (demos, onboarding, office hours)
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client-facing associates
- Drive adoption by explaining capabilities and limitations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with engineering, product, and AI teams to translate user issues into actionable tickets
- Identify recurring patterns and escalate systemic issues
Data Protection (General)
- Protect and handle confidential data appropriately to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure
Requirements
- Up to 3 years of experience in software engineering/support/QA/SDET (including internships, co-ops, or academic projects)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis
- Foundational exposure to:
- API testing (e.g., Postman)
- Reading logs and debugging application behavior
- Basic SQL / data inspection
- Interest in or exposure to AI/LLM-based systems (prompting, chatbots, RAG, agents) via coursework/projects
- Experience using or willingness to learn AI-powered dev tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code)
- Strong communication skills
