Software Engineer (Android)

Role Overview

Senior Android Engineer at AgileEngine, shaping the future of native Android applications. You will build high-quality, performant, user-centric Android experiences while partnering with cross-functional teams across backend, iOS, and product.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications in Kotlin
• Collaborate with Backend, iOS, and Product to design and ship new features
• Implement UI components for internal design systems with pixel-perfect accuracy
• Refactor legacy code to align with modern Android architecture (e.g., MVVM/MVI)
• Ensure optimal app performance, quality, and responsiveness
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and best practices
• Contribute to architectural decisions and maintain technical documentation
• Stay current with modern Android trends and technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional Android development
• Expert proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK
• Strong experience with Jetpack Compose and modern UI toolkits
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and gRPC
• Deep understanding of Android architecture components: ViewModel, LiveData, Flow
• Familiarity with dependency injection (e.g., Dagger or Hilt)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency
