Software Engineer, Android, Level 4

Role Overview

Snap Inc. is hiring an Android Engineer to build smooth, stable, and engaging mobile experiences for large-scale, customer-facing products like Snapchat.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship Android features from design through implementation and launch
• Push the limits of mobile devices to deliver great user experiences
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs and collaborate with design on UI and infrastructure best practices
• Perform code reviews to ensure code quality
• Use AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services
• Uphold rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality

Required / Minimum Qualifications

• Kotlin/Java proficiency (Android development) and strong aptitude with relevant tools
• 2+ years of post-bachelor’s software development experience (or equivalent advanced degree/work experience)
• Ability to prioritize work and operate effectively independently
• Strong judgment for using AI tools while auditing outputs for:
  • Architectural integrity
  • Performance bottlenecks
  • Security risks
• Adaptability to learn and apply evolving AI systems and engineering trends

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale customer-facing mobile applications

Work Location Policy

• “Default Together”: expected to work in an office 4+ days per week.
