About the role

Role: Software Engineer 3 (UI Front-End)

Wyetech is seeking an experienced UI Front-End Software Engineer (SWE3) to support Nightwing CODEX and help deliver mission-critical capabilities for federal government customers. You will lead a team of UI developers while remaining hands-on across the full software product lifecycle in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor UI/front-end developers, providing technical guidance, standards, and code review
Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions using modern frameworks
Translate UX/UI designs into functional, responsive, accessible interfaces
Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs and ensure efficient front-end/back-end data flow
Contribute to full-stack efforts as needed (backend services, database interactions, deployment pipelines)
Establish/enforce front-end coding standards, best practices, and component reuse
Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to preserve design intent through implementation
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, and technical debt
Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision-making
Ensure accessibility compliance (e.g., Section 508, WCAG)
Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance requirements
Debug existing software, resolve problem reports, and implement new features/enhancements
Review and test components for adherence to requirements; document test results
Provide input to system design (hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS vs new development)
Support documentation and improvements to development process standards

Requirements

Front-end/UI engineering experience translating designs into accessible, production-ready interfaces
Ability to architect and implement maintainable front-end solutions
Experience debugging, testing, and resolving defects/problem reports
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain an appropriate security clearance (e.g., Active TS/SCI with agency-appropriate polygraph)

Nice to Have

Experience working with processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, large data sets, and/or business management information systems
Experience reviewing software documentation and improving development standards/processes
