Software Engineer 3, Mobile

Role Overview

Condé Nast is hiring a Mobile Software Engineer III for its New York office to build and scale mobile apps. You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver premium, story-driven experiences for millions of readers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform features using Flutter 3.x and Dart
• Translate Figma designs into performant, reusable UI components
• Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs with secure identity flows
• Optimize performance, memory, and responsiveness across devices
• Build unit, widget, and integration tests to ensure app stability
• Support continuous delivery (e.g., GitHub Actions, Firebase App Distribution)
• Stay current with emerging Flutter/Dart libraries, patterns, and best practices
• Build AI-native mobile experiences using LLMs, agentic workflows, and generative AI capabilities

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years professional iOS and/or Android development using Swift and/or Kotlin
• Strong proficiency in Dart and Flutter architecture (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture)
• Experience with RESTful/GraphQL APIs and local storage (Hive, SQFlite)
• Familiarity with state management (Provider, Riverpod, Bloc, GetX)
• Hands-on experience with Firebase services (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Notifications)
• Strong debugging/profiling skills and ability to maintain high-quality code
• Solid understanding of Git workflows and Agile/Scrum

Preferred Skills

• Professional Flutter experience, including integration within native iOS/Android apps
• Experience collaborating across locations/timezones
• Experience with animations/motion libraries (Lottie, Rive)
• Familiarity with analytics (Snowplow, Firebase Analytics) and experimentation platforms (GrowthBook)
• Understanding of subscriptions/paywalls/entitlements
• Contributions to open-source Flutter plugins or community initiatives
