Software Development Engineer

Role Overview

Software Development Engineer at Zoom, working on backend systems for real-time agent status, reporting, and Contact Center platform performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize backend services for real-time agent status management and accurate updates across the Contact Center platform.
• Implement internationalization (i18n), including translation framework integration and locale-based data processing.
• Design and maintain real-time reporting and Wallboard systems for live monitoring of agent activities, queue analysis, and performance metrics.
• Improve system performance by reducing latency, enhancing data consistency, and scaling backend services for high-throughput events.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, high-performing solutions aligned with business requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT/Electronics Engineering or related field (or equivalent foreign degree).
• 3+ years of experience in backend development, including designing and implementing scalable cloud applications using:
  • Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC
• 3+ years experience with i18n:
  • integration of translations
  • locale-based formatting for dates, numbers, and currencies
  • region-specific data processing
• 3+ years implementing scalable localization frameworks, including continuous translation updates and localization testing.
• 3+ years implementing data accuracy mechanisms for reporting systems, including validation, reconciliation, and monitoring.
• 3+ years building automated data quality checks (e.g., schema validation, anomaly detection, cross-source reconciliation).
• 3+ years establishing governance practices and audit trails for business-critical metrics reliability and compliance.
• 3+ years managing relational and NoSQL databases, specifically Redis and Amazon DynamoDB, ensuring data consistency and high availability.
• 3+ years applying secure coding and compliance measures to protect sensitive data in cloud Contact Center environments.

Work Arrangement

• Structured hybrid approach (role indicates Hybrid/Remote/In-Person in posting).
• Telecommuting permitted: may work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Compensation

• Minimum base/OTE: $195,660
• Maximum base/OTE: $228,700
• Total Direct Compensation may include base salary, bonus, and equity; starting pay varies by factors/experience and location-based structure.
