Software Development Engineer – Python

Role Overview

Software Development Engineer focused on production-grade Python backend development. You will design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications and REST APIs, with strong emphasis on software design patterns, code quality, and database architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend applications, modules, and REST APIs in Python
• Design, build, query, and optimize databases connected to Python backends
• Write clean, modular, reusable Python code following OOP and SOLID principles
• Analyze and optimize performance by debugging bottlenecks and improving database queries/workflows
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain version control with Git
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on Python software development (production-ready code)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (Tier-1/Premium institute preferred)
• Strong core Python knowledge (data structures, OOP, asynchronous programming, packaging)
• Database experience using ORMS (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Django ORM) or native drivers
• Practical knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL and/or MongoDB/Redis (complex SQL, indexing)
• Proficiency with Python backend frameworks: FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Familiarity with Git, Linux, Docker, and RESTful API integration

• Message queues/event streaming: RabbitMQ, Celery, Kafka
• Cloud exposure: AWS / Azure / GCP
• CI/CD pipelines
