About the role
Role Overview
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Tuesday Health (Remote). You’ll be the first dedicated SDET and own test automation across the product suite. This is a high-ownership role on a small senior onshore team where AI-assisted engineering is central to the SDLC (not optional).
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end test automation across the product suite.
- Build and maintain UI and functional test suites for the Blazor WebAssembly front end (e.g., Playwright).
- Create and maintain API test coverage for .NET Core back-end APIs, Azure Function apps, and a dedicated authentication service (integration, contract, regression; REST; test data management).
- Establish mobile test automation for .NET MAUI on iOS and Android.
- Use Claude Enterprise to generate, refactor, and maintain test scripts; help define best practices for AI-assisted testing.
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD so tests run on every build and release with clear pass/fail and actionable failure reporting.
- Track quality metrics (escaped defects, coverage, flaky test rate) and use them to drive improvement.
- Partner with developers to make testability a first-class concern during design and code review; reproduce, isolate, and verify bug fixes.
- Perform targeted exploratory testing where automation isn’t the right approach, especially for new features and edge cases.
Requirements
- 4+ years in test automation, SDET, or software engineering roles with a strong testing focus.
- Strong C#/.NET skills with the ability to write production-quality test code.
- Hands-on experience with modern UI automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, or similar).
- Experience building API-level test suites (REST, integration testing, test data management).
- Experience wiring test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) as part of the workflow or strong enthusiasm to adopt them.
- Self-directed, able to own a domain on a small team.
Nice to Have
- Experience testing Blazor apps (e.g., bUnit, Playwright against WASM).
- Mobile automation experience (e.g., Appium, .NET MAUI UI testing).
- Experience testing authentication/authorization flows (OAuth, OIDC).
- Healthcare/regulatory experience (e.g., HIPAA, handling PHI in test environments).
- Performance/load testing experience.
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines.
Tech Stack (as described)
- Front end: Blazor WebAssembly
- Back end: .NET Core APIs, Azure Function apps, separate auth service API
- Mobile: .NET MAUI (iOS and Android)
- Cloud/DevOps: Azure (Azure App Services, Azure ecosystem), Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- AI tooling: Claude Enterprise (used throughout the SDLC)
Offer
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, and more).
