Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to build and improve test automation across the SDLC. This is a 100% remote, full-time, direct W2 role (in-house Statement of Work engagement; no third-party client/vendor).

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservices
• Write production-quality automated test code and continuously improve it
• Partner with development and cross-functional teams to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC
• Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered test solutions
• Raise the team’s bar through code review, design review, and mentorship
• Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) to validate service contracts
• Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Develop performance test suites using tools like JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as an SDET/automation-focused engineer
• Strong software engineering practices and hands-on test automation experience
• Deep testing strategy knowledge across: unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
• Strong programming skills with ability to write automated tests in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
• Experience with modern web/API testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, or Pact

Nice to Have

• Experience testing in modern distributed systems / microservices ecosystems
• Experience integrating automated tests into multiple CI/CD platforms
