Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a 100% remote, full-time W2 in-house SOW engagement (multi-year). The role focuses on bringing strong engineering practices to test automation across the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservices
• Write production-quality automated test code
• Partner with development teams to embed quality engineering throughout development
• Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) for microservice/service contract validation
• Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Develop performance test suites using tools like JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust
• Raise the engineering bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of junior engineers
• Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions with cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as an SDET / test automation engineer
• Strong programming skills with production-quality test development
• Deep testing strategy knowledge across:
  • Unit, integration, end-to-end testing
  • Performance testing
  • Security testing (modern distributed systems)
• Experience with test automation frameworks/tools such as:
  • Selenium, Cypress, Playwright
  • RestAssured, Pact
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering, operations, business)
• Technical coding assessment is mandatory

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience testing microservices and distributed systems at scale
• Demonstrated track record of shipping work that performs reliably in production
