About the role
Role Overview
Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, build, and continuously improve test automation and quality engineering practices across the SDLC. This is a 100% remote role for candidates in the Continental United States, working as a full-time W2 employee on an in-house Statement of Work (SOW) engagement.
Responsibilities
- Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for:
- Web, API, mobile, and microservice testing
- Write production-quality automated test code and maintain test reliability
- Partner with development teams to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC
- Cover multiple testing types including:
- Unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
- Implement contract testing for microservices using Pact or similar tools
- Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines integrated with:
- Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Develop performance test suites using tools such as:
- JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust
- Raise the team bar through code review, design review, and mentoring
- Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions with cross-functional partners
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an SDET / test automation engineer
- Strong software engineering skills with the ability to write production-quality test code
- Demonstrated testing strategy knowledge across unit/integration/E2E/performance/security
- Proficiency in one or more of:
- Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
- Hands-on experience with one or more automation frameworks such as:
- Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, Pact
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Azure DevOps)
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience testing distributed systems and microservices
- Experience with mobile test automation
- Strong collaboration with product/design/engineering/operations stakeholders
Logistics / Employment
- Location/Work model: 100% Remote (Continental United States)
- Type: Full-time, direct W2 employment (no C2C/1099/third-party)
- Visa: No new H1B sponsorship; H1B transfers welcomed
- Assessments: Technical coding assessment is mandatory
