Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Bright Vision Technologies (in-house, full-time W2).

• Location: 100% Remote (Continental United States)
• Engagement: Long-term, multi-year aligned to Bright Vision SOW delivery roadmap
• Compensation: $100k–$150k/year (base salary + benefits)

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for:
  • Web, API, mobile, and microservice testing
• Write production-quality automated test code and continuously improve it
• Partner with development teams to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC
• Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) to validate service contracts
• Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines integrated with:
  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Develop performance test suites using JMeter (and similar tools)
• Contribute to raising engineering standards through code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET/QA automation engineer with strong software engineering practices
• Deep knowledge of testing strategy, including:
  • Unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
• Hands-on experience writing automated tests for distributed systems and modern application stacks
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as:
  • Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, or Pact
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
• Technical coding assessment is mandatory

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience testing web + APIs + mobile + microservices across multiple platforms
• Experience integrating test suites into multiple CI/CD platforms
