Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a 100% remote (Continental US) full-time, direct W2 role. You will design, build, and continuously improve test automation frameworks and embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservices.
• Write production-quality automated test code using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, and Pact.
• Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) to validate service contracts in microservice ecosystems.
• Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop performance test suites using JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locus.
• Partner with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into engineered solutions.
• Raise the bar via code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET/QA automation engineer with strong software engineering practices.
• Deep testing strategy knowledge across unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing in modern distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills; test code in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience building automation frameworks and shipping work that holds up in production.
• Ability to perform a mandatory technical coding assessment.

Nice-to-Haves (implied by tooling)

• Experience with contract testing (Pact or similar).
• Experience with CI/CD test automation and multiple pipeline platforms.
• Experience with web/API testing and performance testing tools listed above.
