Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, build, and continuously improve automated testing practices across the SDLC. The SDET will embed quality engineering into development workflows and partner closely with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, APIs, mobile, and microservices
• Write production-quality automated tests in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# using tools such as:
  • Selenium, Cypress, Playwright
  • RestAssured
• Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) to validate service contracts in microservice ecosystems
• Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Develop performance test suites using JMeter (and related tools as applicable)
• Improve engineering quality through code review, design review, and mentorship

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET / test automation engineer
• Strong software engineering skills and production-quality test coding experience
• Solid testing strategy knowledge across:
  • Unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
• Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
• Willingness to complete a mandatory technical coding assessment

Nice to Have

• Experience testing distributed systems and microservices
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD tooling and contract testing approaches

Logistics / Eligibility

• 100% remote (Continental United States)
• Full-time, direct W2 employment with Bright Vision Technologies (no C2C/1099/third-party)
