Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 5+ years of experience. This is a 100% remote (Continental United States), full-time direct W2 role. You will design, build, and continuously improve test automation frameworks and partner with engineering teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for:
  • Web, APIs, mobile, and microservices
• Write production-quality automated test code in:
  • Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
• Use testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, and Pact
• Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) for microservice service contracts
• Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Develop performance test suites (e.g., JMeter)
• Work with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering, operations, business stakeholders) to clarify ambiguous requirements and deliver well-engineered solutions
• Raise quality standards through code review, design review, and mentorship

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in software testing and test automation engineering
• Strong programming skills and ability to write production-quality test code
• Deep understanding of test strategy across:
  • unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
• Experience working in modern distributed systems
• Strong engineering discipline, communication, and shipping track record
• Technical coding assessment is mandatory

Nice to Have

• Experience across web/API/mobile/microservice testing
• Experience with both automation and contract testing
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems
