Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its in-house, long-term (multi-year) SOW engagement. This is a 100% remote role for candidates in the Continental United States, with full-time direct W2 employment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for:
  • Web, API, mobile, and microservices
• Write production-quality automated test code using modern test frameworks
• Create and maintain CI/CD test pipelines integrated with common CI platforms (e.g., Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Azure DevOps)
• Implement contract testing for microservice ecosystems (e.g., using Pact)
• Develop performance test suites (e.g., using JMeter) and support performance validation
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
• Raise engineering standards through code review, design review, and mentorship

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software testing and automation engineering (SDET)
• Strong programming skills and the ability to write production-quality test code
• Deep knowledge of testing strategy, including:
  • unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
• Strong engineering discipline and communication skills
• Track record of shipping work that holds up in production

Preferred / Nice-to-haves

• Experience testing distributed systems/microservices
• Ability to build automation coverage across web, APIs, and mobile
• Experience integrating automated tests into SDLC and improving frameworks over time
