About the role
Role Overview
Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 5+ years of experience. This is a 100% remote, full-time W2 position in an in-house Statement of Work (SOW) engagement (no third-party client or vendor). You will design, build, and continuously improve test automation frameworks and embed quality engineering across the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservice testing
- Write production-quality automated test code using languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
- Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) for microservice service contract validation
- Develop CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Build performance test suites using tools like JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust
- Partner with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering, operations, business) to turn ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
- Raise quality standards through code review, design review, and mentorship of junior engineers
Requirements
- 5+ years of SDET/test automation experience
- Strong programming skills and hands-on experience in test automation
- Deep testing strategy knowledge across:
- Unit, integration, end-to-end testing
- Performance testing
- Security testing
- Ability to communicate clearly and deliver test automation that holds up in production
- Mandatory technical coding assessment
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience testing modern distributed systems
- Experience across multiple surfaces: web, APIs, mobile, microservices
Logistics / Constraints
- Location: 100% remote across the Continental United States
- Sponsorship: No new H1B sponsorship; H1B transfers welcome
- Employment model: Full-time direct W2 (no C2C/1099/third-party arrangements)
- Salary: $100k - $150k base (plus benefits), commensurate with experience
