Role: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Employment: Full-time, direct W2 (in-house SOW engagement; no third-party/vendor client) Location: 100% Remote (Continental United States) Compensation: $100K–$150K base salary Experience: 5+ years

Summary

Join Bright Vision Technologies as an SDET to build and continuously improve test automation frameworks and embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC. You will partner with development teams and cross-functional stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions, raising quality through reviews and mentorship.

Responsibilities

Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for:
- web, API, mobile, and microservice testing
Write production-quality automated test code using Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
Implement contract testing for microservices using Pact or similar tools
Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with tools like:
- Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
Develop performance test suites using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6
Collaborate with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver meaningful work that holds up in production
Raise the team’s quality bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of junior engineers

Requirements

5+ years of experience as an SDET / test automation engineer
Strong programming skills and hands-on experience writing automated tests
Deep knowledge of testing strategy across:
- unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
Ability to work in modern distributed systems and microservices environments
Mandatory technical coding assessment

Nice-to-have / Preferred Skills (as mentioned)

Experience with test tools/frameworks such as:
- Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, Pact
Performance testing experience with:
- JMeter, Gatling, k6
