Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, build, and continuously improve test automation and quality engineering practices across the SDLC. You will partner with development and cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions and raise the quality bar through reviews and mentorship.

Location / Employment

• 100% Remote (Continental United States)
• Full-time, direct W2 (in-house SOW engagement)
• Long-term, multi-year engagement aligned to the delivery roadmap
• Sponsorship: No new H1B sponsorship; H1B transfers welcome for qualified candidates

Responsibilities

• Build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for:
  • Web, API, mobile, and microservice testing
• Write production-quality automated test code in:
  • Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
• Implement contract testing for microservices using Pact (or similar)
• Develop CI/CD test pipelines integrated with tools such as:
  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
• Create performance test suites using tools like:
  • JMeter, Gatling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders)
• Raise standards through code review, design review, and mentorship

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as an SDET/automation-focused engineer
• Strong programming skills and hands-on test automation experience
• Deep testing strategy knowledge across:
  • Unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
• Track record of shipping work that holds up in production
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with ambiguous requirements

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience testing distributed systems and microservices
• Experience with modern automation frameworks and security/performance validation
