Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) — 100% remote (Continental United States). Full-time, direct W2 employment with Bright Vision Technologies (in-house SOW engagement; no third-party/client/vendor involvement).

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, APIs, mobile, and microservices.
• Write production-quality automated test code using one or more of: Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) to validate service contracts in microservice ecosystems.
• Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop performance test suites using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust, including realistic load models and interpretation of results.
• Partner with development teams and cross-functional stakeholders to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC.
• Raise engineering standards through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET/QA automation engineer with strong software engineering practices.
• Deep knowledge of testing strategy across unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing in modern distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of shipping work that holds up in production.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions.
• Must complete a technical coding assessment.

Nice-to-haves / Additional Details

• Experience with test automation across multiple surfaces (web, API, mobile, microservices).
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD for reliable delivery.
