Software Development Engineer in Test

Role overview

Join Kodify’s fully remote QA team as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). You will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of the platform(s), and to continuously improve testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test solutions to improve test coverage and reliability.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and QA engineers to embed automation into delivery.
• Integrate and maintain automation in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Continuously improve testing processes, keeping quality moving forward.
• Debug and validate tests in cloud and containerized environments.

Requirements

• 4+ years in QA automation/SDET or a similar role.
• Strong programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, TestCafe, WebdriverIO, Jest, Mocha, or similar.
• Strong analytical and debugging/problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and a collaborative, constructive mindset for a remote distributed team.
• Strong understanding of Git-based workflows.
• Working knowledge of cloud/container environments (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid API testing experience (REST, GraphQL).
• Working knowledge of microservices architectures and their impact on testing strategies.
• Understanding of edge/traffic-layer platforms such as Cloudflare (caching, routing, security rules, rate limiting).

Nice to have

• Experience using AI/LLM-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) to improve QA automation/workflows.
• Performance testing familiarity (e.g., Lighthouse, k6, JMeter).
• Basic interest/knowledge in security testing and common web vulnerabilities.
• Experience with high-traffic / large-scale systems.
• Prior experience working in fully remote teams.
