Role Overview

Software Developer / Software Engineer in Test focused on designing, developing, and implementing tools and frameworks to test complex, data-driven software systems. The role emphasizes QA automation, database-driven validation, and performance testing to ensure quality, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define testing scope.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts, frameworks, and testing tools.
  • Create and execute test plans with detailed coverage and traceability.
  • Build and maintain datasets for automated and exploratory/manual data-driven testing.
  • Implement performance testing strategies and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Compare large datasets across systems to find anomalies, edge cases, and validate data accuracy/completeness/consistency.
  • Perform exploratory testing and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and partner with application teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and improve automated test integration within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Report and document testing metrics, progress, and outcomes.
  • Stay current with QA automation tools, technologies, and trends.

Requirements (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development and/or testing.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, PL-SQL, T-SQL, Python (or similar).
  • Experience with testing frameworks/tools such as Playwright, JUnit, JMeter, TestNG, Xray.
  • Experience testing relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Proficiency with Git and Jira (version control and issue tracking).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
  • Solid understanding of rapid software testing methodologies and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on API testing experience with Postman or REST-assured.
  • Experience testing cloud applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
