Role overview
Software Developer II – Backend will support development of Electrify America’s backend systems. The role focuses on building secure, high-performing backend services and APIs that work across devices and with multiple external partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refactor reliable, secure, and high-performance backend code
- Create and maintain APIs for web, mobile, and partner integrations
- Leverage tooling to find, save, update, and serve data to frontend applications
- Write unit tests covering the code base
- Perform regular code reviews and improve code quality (readability, maintainability, security, performance)
- Participate in Agile rituals, including work sizing/estimation
- Follow a secure development lifecycle and best development practices
- Continuously evaluate the code base to reduce technical debt and manage risks
- Optimize systems for scalability, speed, resiliency, and response time
- Support the full software development lifecycle for applications supporting EV charging hardware
- Review, analyze, triage, and resolve bugs/issues with attention to module dependencies
- Collaborate with front-end developers, backend developers, vendors, project managers, and technology teams
